full frontal! yep, like this better, super shot. mal
liam beattie: thanks mal..maybe i should have posted this first...i posted the previous as i thought it showed the feathers better. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
TOTALLY agree with Malcolm.
liam beattie: cool...theres that word hindsight again! he he he
I like this one more then yesterdays Liam, Brilliant!
liam beattie: must say i prefer it too...sometimes takes a while to see that though...and the viewpoints of others really is invaluable!. Thanks Coleen
Good morning Liam. A brilliant capture indeed. I do think you could have gone with another stop or two on the aperture - f/7.1 or f/8.0, just to bring the neck and head into a slightly sharper focus, but hey, overall, fantastic. Many regards, Neil.
liam beattie: hi neil
that is exactly the kind of contructive critism i am looking for ...thank you! That was also bothering me and i couldnt figure out why it was like that. I am going to try this again with your recomendations nice one thanks Liam
That's it and I can now see why one can get mixed up about which side should be up. Even the swirls in the water are symetric. About the focus, it appears that the reflected head is a bit more in focus - remedy, do what Neil says or just flip the picture
Excellent picture, I am now more jealous. Must find the darter's address and come take my own pictures
liam beattie: first pond, second submerged branch, george botanical gardens
neils advice was great as now know what to do with this type of shot. This guy was also still so i could easily sacrifice speed for more fstop
Oh this is just brilliant! (:o)
liam beattie: cool...glad you like. I am going to have to retry it though after neils advice...hope to get it pin sharp!
Fantastic reflection
Exellent capture
liam beattie: hi magnus...thanks so much...got lucky with zero wind
nice birdie, nice reflection, is this real or is this photoshop, it is anyway an amazing photo!!
liam beattie: hi patrick
thank you for visiting. no photoshop other than a few minor tweaks
Wow ! Perfect reflection!
liam beattie: hi Jose
yea no wind does help!. As Neil said next time i must up the fstop and it will be crystal clear throughout...still learning. thank again for stopping by
OMFG (too rude to translate) WOW! stunning! one day i will own cloning technology and then clone me some of your talent hehe.
GREAT shot!!!!! beautiful to say the least!
liam beattie: this took 3 seperate days shooting and a unhelpful sun that finally came out...this was before i realised i could up he iso to get more speed. It turned out so well except that i should have used a slightly higher fstop so the head was tacksharp...still thats my next mission when there again. thanks ferdi
